Ready, steady, go!

They are off

Jockeying for position

Pressing forward one moment

Hanging back the next

Governed by lights

Of green and red

Horns sound

Cyclists swarm

A pedestrian wanders forlorn

Others like ants

Surround and push

The crowd moves on

Oh what a rush!

Feet stampede

Up and down

Past the clown

The busker

The singer

The begger

Unseeing

Uncaring

Unknowing

Undone
