Our negative thoughts are like birds – they may come and visit our tree – but we must not let them nest.  The Bible teaches us to bring every thought into captivity (2 Corinthians 10:5b).  “This is my command—be strong and courageous! Do not be afraid or discouraged. For the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.” Joshua 1:9

“There is no fear in love. But perfect love drives out fear, because fear has to do with punishment. The one who fears is not made perfect in love,” 1 John 4:18 (NIV).

My prayer for myself and others is that we become so full of God’s love, we overflow and drown out fear and cover over a multitude of sins without keeping a record of wrongs.   Jesus said to his disciples, “Love each other. Just as I have loved you, you should love each other. Your love for one another will prove to the world that you are my disciples,” John 13:34-35 (NLT).

Finally, “Love never gives up, never loses faith, is always hopeful, and endures through every circumstance,”   1 Corinthians 13:7 (NLT).   Replace fear with love.
