Reflected glory poem and image © Michelle Sherlock 28/2/15

Love God first and most

Lest in our own strength we dare to boast

Stealing glory from the Lord of Hosts

Love God first and most

And in us He will delight to boast

Receiving glory from the Lord of Hosts

Love God first and most

And of us others will boast

Shining and reflecting glory to the One who loves us most

This is what the LORD says: “Don’t let the wise boast in their wisdom, or the powerful boast in their power, or the rich boast in their riches. But those who wish to boast should boast in this alone: that they truly know me and understand that I am the LORD who demonstrates unfailing love  and who brings justice and righteousness to the earth, and that I delight in these things.  I, the LORD, have spoken! Jeremiah 9:23-24 (NLT)

“But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.” Matthew 6:33 (NIV).

“Arise, shine, for your light has come, and the glory of the Lord rises upon you.  See, darkness covers the earth and thick darkness is over the peoples, but the Lord rises upon you and his glory appears over you.  Nations will come to your light, and kings to the brightness of your dawn.”  Isaiah 60:1-3 (NIV)
